I photographed Doug and Mary’s wedding back in the middle of May as the second shooter for Kerianne Brown and it was an awesome wedding to photograph. They married during an intimate, evening ceremony at the Argyle Art Gallery in the loft and held their reception in the main gallery. I would highly recommend the Gallery if you are looking for a unique place for your ceremony or reception- or both! After the wedding, we went through The Historic Properties and along the waterfront for some images. It was foggy and started to drizzle but they were troopers and we got some amazing images because of it.

Doug’s Niece sang and played her guitar- she did an amazing job!

The two rows of guests you can see below were all the guests at the intimate and personalized ceremony.

My favorite of the day. The fog on the water made it a beautiful background and so romantic

We had a great vantage point from the loft to photograph the reception. I love how you can see the artwork on the walls here

I thought I should dedicate this blog post- day 16 of 30 in the challenge to showing off one of my new favorite products. This custom printed on canvas, matted, portfolio box is just stunning. When I first received it in the mail, I had to remind myself to breathe, then I could hardly contain my excitement. Call or e-mail me to get a look at this and it will be love at first sight for you too! The images are matted, ready for you to frame or display within your home however you choose. Several sizes of images are available as well as portfolio box size.

This is the cover of the box, it can be printed on canvas or silk. There are several designs to choose from and  it will be customized with your photographs, your names and date.

Prom 2009

June 26, 2009

This is the fourth and final post of prom 2009 and showcases everyone else that I just had a couple of minutes each to photograph. It really was a great group of friends I got to photograph and it will be sad to see them move all over the Maritimes in the fall.

Katie is heading off to Nova Scotia to study Videography

I love the sunflare in this one.

The “big truck” they took to prom. She told me she was taking a “big truck” but I didn’t realize how big it really was until I went to the other side of the house… I  was surprised that it was really this big!

Yesterday I attended the 50th wedding anniversary party of my dear friends Carl and Elaine. I’ve known them my entire life. The highlight of my summer every year is going to Bocabec to Elaine’s family’s house for a weekend at the beach. The party was lots of fun and they looked very handsome. Congratulations Carl and Elaine, I can’t wait for your 60th!

There was lots of food there to be eaten!

And of course, Carl and Elaine. I love you both!

Dafne bought her dress on a trip to Toronto with Emma to make sure that both of theirs would be different then all the others. Its reminds me of when I purchased mine on a trip to Florida with my sister over our March break. In between Disney and the beach we found time to go dress shopping. I left Davids Bridal with a gorgeous, creamy yellow dress with a broach on the side where the fabric gathered. Enough about me- back to prom ’09

Dafne Started out the day with her hair appointment at Dymond Cutz with Jessie. She went with an off the shoulder look that looked so wonderful on her.

emmapoliquin-17

We stopped by an empty lot filled with long grass and colourful lupines to photograph after they both were ready.

Then we went back to Dafne’s place to wait for all their friends to arrive

Dafne just got to sit down for a moment before I was taking the shoes off her feet to photograph. I love shoes even though I don’t wear heels enough

Happy Birthday Justin!

June 20, 2009

Happy Birthday Justin! Today has been a great, busy day! We are still celebrating Grad in full swing- two grad parties and a birthday party today. Tonight we are at Justin’s house relaxing after the celebrations. We had planned on having a camp fire tonight but the rain ruined those plans so we had a barbecue and a relaxing evening inside. Judy (Justin’s mom) had an amazing, rich chocolate cake made by Miss Sweetie Cakes.

Here are some pictures of Justin over the years. I wish I had some of him as a kid on my computer… he was super cute. 2088328790_c0fc924021_o

I love this one- I know you can only see Justin’s arms in this one but we are also celebrating Maverick’s birthday today. Its his second birthday and he is already a poker pro.

Here is part two in a three or four part blog series. I just can’t get over how gorgeous and handsome everyone was that I got to photograph. Emma and Wello both wore orchids and Emma wore earrings that Granny picked up at the airport for her on the trip here from Toronto. They were a perfect match to her dress. emmapoliquin-14

Emma’s dress matched her eyes perfectly.

Natasha Giberson of Eclipse Salon did Emma’s hair and her makeup was done at Hair Raiser. Both did absolutely stunning work.

Prom! : Woodstock, NB

June 18, 2009

On Tuesday night Woodstock High School held their prom and I knew several of the attendees… one was my little brother and his girlfriend (she is a grad this year), my soon to be sister-in-law and her boyfriend (both grads), along with all of their friends. It was a blast photographing all of them together and alone! I’ve got so many that I am going to end up doing a couple of blog posts to accommodate them all.

All of the dresses and the girls there were stunning and the guys were quite handsome. The line up of vehicles bringing them to the Grand March was quite impressive as well -antique cars, sports cars, transport trucks and even a Zamboni were there.

My darling Kitty!

June 17, 2009

This is my kitty Maverick, which Justin and I have had for two years. He is a sweet, orange kitty who loves fish, toys with feathers and sleeping. We celebrate his birthday on the same day as Justin’s since we don’t know the exact date, which is coming up on June 20th. Maverick loves to find a place wherever he stays where he can keep his eye on everything that is going on around. Here he is at Justin’s house at Christmas watching both floors of the house.

Brad and Heather are great friends of mine so I was thrilled with the chance to photograph them a few weeks ago at the Public Gardens. I’ve known Brad since I was a kid in Middle School and Justin (my fiance) has been best friends with him since they were in grade 8. Luckily, he is our best man as well! Heather is the newest addition to the group and we just love her! Its great having games night with them and getting totally crushed in Monopoly. We had our session quite late in the evening and caught some awesome light.

I love the lens flare in this one!

Isn’t she just stunning?!?

When we saw this newspaper on the bench, we knew we had to do this just for fun.

This is my favorite from the whole session. I love the tree that is hanging around them, making it into their own little world.
