We’ve known each other since the summer after grade 7 and it was the most amazing experience to be able to be her wedding photographer! It was simply the best wedding and I can’t wait to share more images! Diane and Shawn, I am so thrilled for both of you and am really hoping that you are enjoying your honeymoon to Florida!

Diane and Shawn met before the ceremony- blindfolded so they could spend a moment praying together before they went to get married! It was a unique take on a first look!

Its so exciting to welcome baby Lily Helen to the family! It has been so thrilling to get a chance to spend some time with this beautiful little girl our family has been given. I will be posting all the newborn pictures of Lily soon! About a month and a half ago (so long now!!), Frank and Dafne came to Moncton to get their maternity images taken in my studio! We had so much fun and time flew by so quickly while we were in the studio.

I’ve decided that every maternity session should include some images taken in a striped shirt- I love, love, love how it accentuated Dafne’s adorable belly!

Dafne, you are so beautiful!

I took these images a few weeks after the ones in the studio, in the last little bit of snow we had this year. Justin and I were home visiting for the weekend and were able to help finish a few bedrooms in their home. Its hard to believe Dafne was painting just a few weeks before Lily was born! Dafne, you are a strong woman and wonderful mother!

I can’t end this post without a picture of Lily, the little girl we have loved so very much from the instant we were told about her!

I met Alex and Steve on Skype for the first time and had never met them before the morning of their engagement session. Usually that makes me a bit nervous but after talking and emailing so much with Alex, I knew that we would have a good connection and have fun during the session, and that we did! Alex and Steve have a beautiful love and are amazing in front of the camera.  Alex and Steve have a wonderful proposal story. Just before Christmas, Steve hid the engagement ring in advent stockings that were decorating their home. One evening, Steve told Alex that he hid something there for her and as she went to look and found the ring, he proposed. Love it!!

This is the BEAUTIFUL ring that Steve designed for Alex! He had a jeweler design the ring, made a sample of the ring out of wax and then Steve chose the right diamond for the center… amazing job!

Spring-like weather will come eventually, once its ready. As quite a few people know, I love Spring- the flowers popping up, the fresh smell in the air, watching the daily progress of buds opening on trees. What is there not to love about it? This  past Sunday, Justin was feeling under the weather with a cold so but I managed to convince him to bundle up and go for a little walk out to the maple woods. I remember as a child going to a family members sugar shack and we decided that it was time to go again. The closest one to us here in Moncton was only about a 10 minute drive and a few minutes walk into the woods. Its a bit magical walking on a trail and suddenly seeing buckets hanging all over the trees. We sampled quite a few maple goodies while on the walk…

I love seeing the buckets! Only one of the camps still uses buckets, the rest use pipes to bring in the sap to be boiled.

This is at the Trites Family Camp, where we spent most of our time. They also have a pancake house if anyone is interested! We were going to get some but the line was quite long! I am sure they would be worth waiting for though..

Inside the Taffy House is where all the magic happens. On the left they are boiling maple sap to around 235 degrees to pour into the snow and make maple taffy. On the right is where they put giant tubs of sap and boil it until about 230 degrees to make maple candies. Yum!!

Here are blocks of maple candy (its almost like fudge but with no other ingredients) and the next picture is of mini ice cream cones that they fill with maple candy. Such a sweet treat!

The day started out so relaxed in the girls hotel suite, opening the jewelry that Melissa, Megan’s sister and maid of honour made herself, getting dressed and with Megan’s dad sitting in the corner reading a newspaper while mom helped primp the girls. Megan and Justin had a beautiful first look and I loved watching Justin’s reaction to seeing Megan in her wedding dress. We took all the pictures outside in which the bridal party did so good braving it out in the cold! The ceremony was so personal and beautiful! All I can say is that this family knows how to decorate and put on a wedding! The reception was absolutely gorgeous and full of so  many gorgeous details. Megan found all of the gorgeous vintage pitchers to borrow and the room was lit with hundreds of candles in mason jars. The dessert bar was amazing too, and tasted even better! Congratulations Megan and Justin.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful! Father Bill is a dear friend of the family and did such a good job at making the ceremony personal and perfect for Megan and Justin. I can’t wait for him to officiate another wedding that I am photographing this summer.

This dessert bar was gorgeous and delicious. Lots of family recipes were used to bake all the desserts. The maple syrup cheesecake was one of the most delicious cheesecakes that I have ever tasted.

I loved the idea of the cheese grater with the light inside to go with the cheesecakes. Megan, you are just so creative!

 The first dance

Quite a few of the girls had coordinated a flash mob dance that took place right after the first few dances. It was a first for me for a wedding reception but so much fun!!

I knew going into this wedding that it would be a beautiful one. The snow on the ground was perfect and it was warm enough to go outside for pictures with Andrew and Kelly. Everything was so well thought out for the entire day. We found lots of little handmade details that were gorgeous, such as the name cards on the tables, the centerpieces, and so much more. There is just something special about a Christmas wedding!

The girls got ready at the Avalon Salon, which had such great decor. I loved the lights and the quote on the wall.

We had so much fun during their engagement session including a bonfire with a hot coco picnic party! Megan and Justin are getting married, this month on the 16th! With the preview of what is to come from the engagement session, you can say that I am a bit excited for their wedding!

Megan and Justin had the idea to make a heart in the snow! Love it!
